Course Availability
KTH Course Catalog: Use this to search for coursework. The main language of instruction on Bachelor's level (year 1-3) is Swedish, the main language of instruction on Master's level (year 4-5) is English.
Course Equivalencies
Course Equivalents: This spreadsheet is a historical list of pre-approved courses Drexel students have taken there before.  Students can choose to take courses from this list, but there is no guarantee that these courses will be offered in the future.

Course Approvals
If you would like to take courses from the catalog that are not listed on the above course equivalents spreadsheet, you will need to have equivalents approved by the appropriate department. For example, if you want to take a Computer Science course for Drexel credit, the Computer Science Department at Drexel must pre- approve the course and equivalency.

Students are taught and graded by Swedish faculty at KTH. Grades are noted as "CR/NCR" on their transcript and will NOT affect their GPA. In order to receive CR, students must earn a "C" or above at the host institution. Students must be a full-time student at the host institution while also taking the equivalent of a full-time load at Drexel.
Optional Swedish Language Courses
The Unit for Language and Communication at KTH offers Swedish language courses free of charge for exchange students. There is an intensive course starting in the beginning of August. During the academic year Swedish language courses are offered along with the rest of the major studies.

Optional Introduction for International Students (Orientation)
All international students are invited to take part in the Introduction Programme. The main purpose of the program is to acquaint students with KTH and Sweden. Introductions are scheduled for the beginning of August. Further information is given to the students with the sending of the Letter of Acceptance.

KTH Accommodation rents rooms for exchange students in student housing buildings (dormitories) or apartment houses. The rooms are located in central Stockholm as well as in the suburbs of the city.

Students from non EU/EEA countries need to apply for a residence permit for studies before entering Sweden. Further information and application forms regarding residence permit may be obtained from the Swedish Embassy or Consulate in the home country of the student. Students are strongly advised to apply as soon as they receive their Letter of Acceptance, since it may take up to three months to get the documentation finalized.

Foreign students are allowed to work in Sweden during their period of study. No additional work permit is needed. However, please be aware that it is difficult to find a part-time job in Stockholm. KTH does not help students to find work.

Cost and Financial Aid

Estimated Program Costs
Review the Estimated Study Abroad Costs page for a list of approximated program expenses.

Tuition & Financial Aid
This is a Drexel sponsored program, thus your Drexel tuition and financial aid remain the same during the term abroad. Students may also want to submit a revised budget to Drexel Central to see if additional funding may be available.

Students who receive Federal Work Study should consider applying for the Study Abroad Online Journalist work study position (only available to students after acceptance).

Those interested in seeking additional funding should review Scholarship & Funding Opportunities. Remember that scholarship deadlines may be much earlier than study abroad deadlines, so plan accordingly.

For more information on these and many other scholarship opportunities, visit our Scholarships page.
