Drexel in Rome + London: Dual City Summer
The Rome + London program allows Drexel students to experience two European capital cities in one term! Through this unique opportunity, students spend 4 weeks in Rome and 4 weeks in London, taking courses in each city.
Rome: Ever since Romulus and Remus built their huts on the Palatine Hill, Rome has been an important political and cultural center. It was the unparalleled capital city of the ancient Roman Empire, and the Roman Catholic Popes and today of the modern Republic of Italy. The enchantment of the city lies in these layers of history which are everywhere exposed to tantalize, fascinate and delight. The program is a unique opportunity that allows Drexel students to spend 4 weeks living and studying in Rome. This program is open to all majors, particularly students interested in Literature and Fine Arts. It is run in partnership with the University of New Orleans "UNO" (UNO is also Drexel’s partner for the Cork Writing Workshops and the Summer in Montpellier programs). All courses are taught in an interactive and experiential way, incorporating site visits and field trips so that the classroom extends into the city itself.
London: London is undoubtedly one of the world’s greatest cultural and economic centers and has been dubbed as the “coolest city in the world”. The rich history combined with contemporary and multicultural dynamics of the city offer a perfect backdrop for study abroad! It is run in partnership with the Foundation of International Education (FIE). Classes in London take place at Foundation House, FIE’s main headquarters and study center, located in South Kensington and just a 10 minute walk from the residence halls. =
